SUMMARY
Designs and develops materials of the Achieve Program based upon existing analysis of learning and development needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Write learning objectives; performance assessments; outlines; storyboards; manuals; workbooks; facilitator guides; video, audio, and multimedia scripts; evaluation tools; job aids; internal marketing tools; as assigned to support Learning Center Achieve Program.
Coordinate all assigned instructional design project tasks from conception to conclusion.
Work with subject-matter experts (SMEs), trainees, and other key stakeholders in developing new or revising existing Learning Center Achieve Program materials.
Maintain communication with Project Manager and all project stakeholders throughout the design and development process, as appropriate.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirement: Bachelor Degree and 1-2 years college level writing experience.
Expert grammar and punctuation
MS Word intermediate level
Preferred:
Knowledge of Instructional Design or adult learning principles advantageous.
Previous freelance writing experience
Quark or other desktop publishing applications
Information mapping

Are you a journalist in training? Interested in writing for a young, socially engaged audience? We want you! WireTap, the webby-award winning site aimed at young thinkers and change-makers, is looking for writers. We need contributors with a variety of skill levels and backgrounds, but we prefer that you have some writing or reporting experience (whether on your own website or blog, a magazine or student newspaper). Most importantly, you must have a strong sense of deadlines, an active imagination and a willingness to write on assignment when necessary.
WireTap is currently hosted as the youth site of Alternet.org and the Independent Media Institute, but we'll be launching a new site this fall. Our editors will work closely with you to develop strong stories and launch your career. Former WireTap contributors now hold jobs at the SF Chronicle, Temple University, and the Boston Globe. They have also gone on to become community organizers, organizational leaders and pundits. Be a part the next wave of truth-telling.
