*The 4 Key MUST HAVES When Writing an Article
by: Anne Wolski

Much of the success of a website comes from the drive of traffic to the site. Because of this, the value of article writing is immeasurable. Articles are a key element to the success or failure of internet based companies and the sensible webmaster will always include articles that will work for them and earn them many benefits for their site.

Articles serve a number of purposes and are vital for a successful website. As well as driving traffic to your site, they are a significant factor in getting a high site ranking in search result pages. The higher your ranking, the more traffic will be sent to it. Consequently, there are more profits and a bigger potential for other income generating formats also.

Now, before you go off cramming your website with articles, you need to look at some certain requirements. These requirements must be met to obtain the maximum benefits an article will provide for your site. The articles need to be well written and relevant. This will keep the reader interested and keep them returning for more, not to mention the word of mouth advertising you will receive from the satisfied customers.

Here are some tips to help you and assist you in making your articles. Below you will read about four things all articles must have to make it successful and helpful in making your site a profit earning and traffic overflowing site.

Keywords and Keyword Phrases.

An article needs to concentrate on relevant keywords and keyword phrases. This is because, although some people are simply browsing on the net, some are actually searching for something specific. This is where the keywords and keyword phrases come into importance. The person types their keyword into the browser and the search engine looks for that keyword or phrase accordingly.

Relevance of keywords is imperative!!! There is no sense in writing articles about auto parts if you are trying to sell fashion accessories or vice versa. There are many resources on the internet that provide service in helping a webmaster to determine what keywords and keyword phrases are mostly searched for.

Keyword Density

Make full use of your keywords and keyword phrases. Search engines will find your articles, and thus your site, much more easily if you have good keyword density. An effective article will have at least ten to fifteen percent of keyword density in their content in order to be ranked highly in search results.

So what exactly is keyword density? It is the number of times a keyword or keyword phrase is used in an article. Of course, the number of words in the article will also factor in determining the keyword density. You don’t want it to be too high nor do you want it to be too low. With a very high density, the essence of the article is lost and may turn off a reader as well as the search engines. It comes off as overeager. A low number may be ignored by the search engines.

Good Article Content

An article cannot, of course, be simply a vehicle for keywords. Your article must be interesting and regarded as good reading material. Articles must be able to entertain or to inform people, depending on their needs. Correct spelling and grammar are essential. People will trust you more if they can see that your article is well written and well thought-out.

Well researched information, backed up by facts, figures and statistics portray you as an expert in your field. This style of article boosts your reputation and people come to trust in you and your products.

Linking Articles

Remember, if you are going to submit articles to ezines and/or contribute your articles to newsletters and other sites, DON’T ever forget to include a link to your site. A little resource box with a brief description of your site and you should always be placed right after your articles that you have submitted. If people like your articles, they will most likely click on the link directing them to your site.
